Erster Tag in der Gleitschirm-Wertung der German Flatlands 2026!
Der heutige Task steht.
Die Bedingungen sind eher bescheiden. Es wird geflogen von Altes Lager nach Bahnhof Wiesenburg ca. 40 km. Gestern wurde bereits eingeflogen unter top Bedingungen.

First day of the paragliding competition at the 2026 German Flatlands!
Today’s task has been set.
Conditions are rather modest. The flight will go from Altes Lager to Wiesenburg Station, a distance of about 40 km. A test flight was already conducted yesterday under excellent conditions.
The window opens at 1:00 p.m. We wish the participants lots of fun and success!

With no clouds and only weak thermals, staying aloft was pure luck at first. It wasn’t until around 2:00 p.m. that the first clouds began to form. Most of the pilots then remained aloft and positioned themselves at an altitude of about 1,200 meters within the launch cylinder. From there, small gaggles took off together and were able to support one another in the rather unfavorable conditions.
Well over half of the pilots made it to the finish. Given the small number of participants, the retrieve was easily organized using several vehicles, ensuring that all participants could be picked up.
To wrap up the day, a cozy get-together with a barbecue 🌭 is now on the agenda.

Ohne Wolken und mit nur schwacher Thermik war das oben-bleiben anfangs echte Glückssache. Erst ab etwa 14 Uhr bildeten sich die ersten Wolken. Der Großteil der Piloten blieb dann oben und positionierte sich mit etwa 1200m Höhe im Start-Zylinder. Daraus flogen kleinere Pulks gemeinsam los und konnten sich bei den eher indifferen Bedingungen gegenseitig unterstützen.
Deutlich über die Hälfte der Pilotinnen und Piloten flog im Ziel ein. Bei der familiären Teilnehmerzahl ließ sich der Retrieve mit mehreren Fahrzeugen gut organisieren, sodass alle Teilnehmer eingesammelt werden konnten.
